It’s not only ladies who want to get a boudoir session at the studio! Male boudoir is a thing. And, of course, we make it modern and classic and sexy.
This gentleman, husband and father of three, wanted to give his wife an awesome and unexpected Valentine’s Day gift this year. He had received a boudoir album from his wife a few years ago, loved it and wanted to reciprocate. He told me he’s been working out a lot recently and feeling good in his body again.
We planned out the session to include a dapper look, a fitness and a fashion look. He rocked all three. It’s really fun to create several different moods with one person by changing the wardrobe, the lighting and the lens choices.
For his Modern Dapper look, he brought in one of his best suits and paired it with a colorful shirt and tie. For the fashion look, we opted for a beautiful leather jacket and jeans – no shirt. We ended with a fitness style image series. For that we used a free weight that the client brought in, and we added some ‘sweat’ with a spray bottle.
PAIRING WORDS AND PICTURES
This client was absolutely committed to the session, and when I asked him if he’d be interested in writing some of his own words to go with the images, he agreed without hesitation.
Very much like the Visual Voice sessions I do for my wedding clients, I invited him to share some of his feelings and memories about the years he’s spent with his wife. He send over beautiful words he wrote to his wife expressing his love for her. We printed these sentiments on sheets of vellum that will lay interspersed with the images in his bedside image folio. I love this idea. As she holds and touches each sheet in the folio, she will read, see and know his immense love, gratitude and affection for her.
